SH 6 Access Management Study-North

Alliance is currently managing an access management and corridor utilization study of the SH 6 corridor from IH-10 to SH249 and FM 529 from Greenhouse Road to US 290 in northwest Houston.  This portion of SH6 provides a critical transportation system linkage that has the potential for facilitating and serving the growth of the southeastern portion of the Houston-Galveston area, and it also serves as a primary commuter and critical hurricane evacuation route, as well as primary access to thousands of businesses, organizations, and residences along the corridor.  Alliance is working with Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) and local stakeholders through a comprehensive public involvement process to identify, define, develop, and refine alternative improvement concepts and strategies. The project emphasis is on financially feasible, soft footprint solutions such as innovative intersection design and access management strategies. Unique to this project is the inclusion of innovative intersection concepts in combination with traditional access management alternatives.  For more information, visit: sh6mobility
